1. Who We Are

My Lawwyer (“we”, “us”, or “our”) is an online platform connecting members of the public with verified lawyers in Sri Lanka. Our website is accessible at mylawwyer.com. For privacy inquiries, contact us at support@mylawwyer.com.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information in two ways:

Information you provide

  • Lawyers: Name, email address, phone number, SLBA enrollment number, NIC number, year of admission, specializations, practice locations, biography, and profile photo.

Information collected automatically

  • Browser type, operating system, and referring URLs.
  • Pages visited and time spent on the platform (via Google Analytics and PostHog).
  • IP address and general geographic location.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To create and manage lawyer accounts on the platform.
  • To verify SLBA enrollment and display lawyer profiles to the public.
  • To forward client inquiries to the relevant lawyer via email.
  • To send transactional emails (account approvals, rejections, password resets).
  • To improve the platform using aggregated, anonymised analytics data.
  • To comply with legal obligations.

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only in the following circumstances:

  • With the lawyer you contact: When you submit an inquiry, your name, email, phone number, and message are sent to the relevant lawyer.
  • Service providers: We use Supabase (database and authentication), Resend (transactional email), Vercel (hosting), Google Analytics, and PostHog (analytics). Each provider processes data under their own privacy policies.
  • Legal requirements: If required by law or to protect our rights.

5. Data Retention

Lawyer account data is retained for as long as the account is active or as required to provide the service. Client inquiry data is retained for 12 months and then deleted. You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us at support@mylawwyer.com.

6. Cookies and Tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the platform, remember your session, and analyse usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may limit some platform functionality.
