Terms of Service — My Lawwyer

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using My Lawwyer (“the Platform”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) at mylawwyer.com, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Platform.

2. Description of Service

My Lawwyer is a directory platform that connects members of the public with SLBA-enrolled lawyers in Sri Lanka. We verify lawyer credentials before listing them, but we do not provide legal advice, act as a law firm, or guarantee the quality of any legal services obtained through the Platform.

3. Lawyer Accounts

By registering as a lawyer on the Platform, you agree to:

Provide accurate and truthful information, including your SLBA enrollment number and NIC number.
Maintain the accuracy of your profile and update it promptly when details change.
Not impersonate any other person or misrepresent your qualifications.
Comply with all applicable laws, including the Legal Profession Act of Sri Lanka.
Keep your login credentials confidential and notify us immediately of any unauthorised access.

We reserve the right to suspend or remove any account that violates these terms or provides false information.

4. Client Use

Members of the public may browse lawyer profiles and submit inquiries free of charge. By submitting an inquiry, you consent to your contact details being shared with the lawyer you are contacting. My Lawwyer is not a party to any legal engagement between you and a lawyer.

5. No Legal Advice

Nothing on this Platform constitutes legal advice. The information provided by lawyers on their profiles is for general informational purposes only. Always consult a qualified lawyer for advice specific to your situation. My Lawwyer is not liable for any action taken or not taken based on information found on this Platform.

6. Intellectual Property

The My Lawwyer name, logo, and all Platform content created by us are our intellectual property. Lawyer-provided content (biographies, profile information) remains the property of the respective lawyer. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our content without written permission.

7. Prohibited Conduct

You must not:

Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose.
Scrape, harvest, or collect data from the Platform in an automated manner.
Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Platform or its systems.
Submit false, misleading, or harassing inquiries to lawyers.
Interfere with the proper operation of the Platform.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, My Lawwyer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform or any legal services obtained through it. Our total liability to you shall not exceed LKR 10,000.

9. Modifications to the Service

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Platform at any time with or without notice. We may also update these Terms of Service. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Sri Lanka.
